What comes to your mind when I tell you…
There are 17 Days Left In 2022.
Do you feel sad? Regretful? Worried?
For me...
Every time December comes along I go through the same motions.
“Oh Crap… I have X days left until the end of the year.”
I FOMO super hard and start to worry about not having accomplished all of my goals for the year.
I begin to judge myself and feel guilty for not doing more.
(What if I just did one more sprint?)
(Why didn't I start earlier?)
(Can I still make it happen in 17 days?)
This leads me to a place of discouragement, confusion and overwhelm...
To the point where I shut-down and stop creating altogether!
😤 And then I take a deep breath. 😤
What if instead of feeling that way...
We took December as a victory lap?
The Victory Lap Framework🏃♂️
The point of a victory lap is to celebrate and recognize all that you have accomplished - no matter how small or big.
You're not racing against time. You're not competing with anyone.
You're simply enjoying your wins.🏆
Instead of a rush towards the end of the year...
We could be proud of ourselves for all the things we've accomplished in the past 11 months.
AND... if you're feeling jolly enough:
You can use this time to reflect on your growth as well as plan out our next steps for an even more successful year ahead.
The main benefit of a Victory Lap is to SOAK in all the progress you’ve made.
Focus on the GAINS not the GAPS. And last but not least… share your win with the crowd around you.
Here's 3 EZ "victory laps" you can do in the next 17 days:
✍️Write a bullet pointed list of all the things you've learned this year. ( Yes even cooking a new dish counts!)
📸Scroll through your camera roll and pick 3-4 photos per month to add to a collage or album. Title it 2022 Highlights. Bonus points if you share it online.
🥳Celebrate someone else's achievements this year. Find a person you want to recognize and give them a S/O on Twitter!
Sometimes the best way to move forward is to look back and appreciate all that you’ve done.

So I’m super thankful for Samuele Onelia + Kevon Cheung and many others for their super helpful advice.
