How I use AI to write newsletters.
Turn Gary Halbert into your personal copywriter and get coached by Hemingway
Listen, my friends— I'm not one to mince words.
But the truth is… if you're not using AI in your writing, you're falling behind.
As a copywriter who has seen the power of AI replace my colleagues…
AI has completely revolutionized the way we create content, allowing us to write faster, smarter, and more effectively.
That intro was written by AI and edited by me.
The example above was originally created from this “recipe” I made in ChatGPT.
It only took 3 prompts before I found something I liked:
I primed the AI by telling it what I want from it specifically. This is also known as roleplaying.
I already had a title in mind so I was brainstorming some interesting hooks. They all seemed meh.
I used a modifier to change the tone of the writing to make it more “human”. Sometimes adjectives like snappy and persuasive just don’t capture the essence of human writing.
Overall, this took me 3-4 minutes to brainstorm, select, and edit.
I prime the AI to give me a specific response.
I gave it a possible title and asked it to riff off of the title.
I use a ‘power word’ to modify the examples.
I massaged some of the wording to feel more natural.
What did you think? Too robotic? Too easy?
I was planning to do a whole demo on outlining, and writing each and every section… but I figured that it would fit better in the guide than a newsletter 😂.
In the future, I’d love to make some videos explaining my thought process behind why I write certain things or why I ask the AI to give me certain responses.
This may even turn into a new sub-genre of skills taught in schools called AI Collaboration 101.
It’s exciting isn’t it?
We’re in the midst of a new creative renaissance that is sweeping the internet.
I feel like I could write entire essays on what this means for us as creators, writers, and creatives— but I’ll leave that for another newsletter!
Till next week,

AI Guide Beta Readers Rock
Wow!! just wow! I can’t believe the amount of support you all have give me these past few days. It’s been a hectic week— I finally sent out the google form for feedback on the guide and the comments have been rolling in.
Huge shout out to Iliana, Brandy, Christine, and T.!
Y’all have been super fast with the feedback and I thank you for that.
I can’t wait to see what other comments the rest of the beta readers will send in.
I also ran my first Twitter Give-away!
It was a smashing success. Lots of new friends made and I gained roughly 100+ followers in the past 2-3 days.
